Hi, I'm Steph

I think all of us who are passionate about gaming have a natural inclination toward the world of game development, right? But my journey here has been gradual and meandering; I didn’t get into it right away.

Sure, I pitched the odd game idea. My very first rejection letter was from Nintendo when I was six or seven years old (they were very nice about it). But I didn’t think I could actually make a career out of gamedev or art. In fact, if I had recognized the opportunities within art and game development earlier, I might have ended up in a very different place. Instead, I got a journalism degree and worked in broadcast television, before turning to corporate public relations. I did that for nearly two decades because I didn’t think working on video games was realistic.

Then I finally asked myself why, and that’s when everything changed.

The barriers to gamedev and game art are nearly dust at our feet. Game Engines like Unity and Unreal offer instant access and robust resources to soften the learning curve. Free tools like Blender, or pared down versions of Maya, are available with a few clicks. The only thing stopping me was myself. I started eating, breathing and sleeping C# and 3D modelling. I spent every free moment I had learning, reading and practicing. And today, I learn something new every single time I work on a project.

In 2019, I became a certified Unity Developer and began selling assets on the Unity Asset Store. Last year, I launched this website to add tutorials and more robust avenues for customer support.

I was born to do exactly what I’m doing today: Gamedev and art. And I am SO grateful to be able to share my work with you.

So welcome to Stellar Game Assets! Let’s make great games together.
